Prior to Polygon, she worked at publications such as The Verge. The recent announcement of a new entry in the Metro franchise, the VR game Metro Awakening, means there’s never been a better reason to revisit the lively environs of the Russian mass transit system. Right now, you can pick up the Metro franchise bundle — which features Metro 2033 Redux, Metro: Last Light Redux, Metro Exodus, and all of their corresponding DLC — for just $9.51 at GOG (was $59.47). If you missed your chance to pick up any of these titles inspired by Dmitry Glukhovsky’s grim, post-apocalyptic novels when they were briefly made available for free, you won’t want to sleep on this deal. The Metro franchise presents a far bleaker version of the post-apocalypse than the comparatively whimsical Fallout universe. Instead of trading with bottlecaps, you use bullets as your currency; 50’s-era swing music is replaced with sobbing widows; and instead of oversized molerats taking over the local grocer, you’ll have to contend with literal demons. It’s an appropriately grim take on how society might adapt to living underground, and while the voice acting for all of these titles is solid, I highly recommend playing them in their native Russian dialect for added immersion.Metro franchise bundle$10$5983% off$10$10 at GOGHowever, if you already have any of these titles sitting in your backlog, each entry in the Metro franchise is also available piecemeal for its lowest price ever, in addition to the post-launch DLC for Metro Exodus.Metro 2033 Redux$2$2090% off$2$20 at Steam$2 at GOGMetro: Last Light Redux$2$2090% off$2$20 at Steam$2 at GOGMetro Exodus$6$3080% off$6$30 at Steam$6 at GOG

Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii has just gotten a fresh trailer during today’s Xbox Partner Preview, ahead of its release on a slightly bumped up release date of February 21, 2025.The swashbuckling action-adventure title starring Goro Majima as the sole protagonist for the first time in series history, in a similar style to last year’s Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, was announced at September’s RGG Summit. Read moreIs Fallout supposed to make you think about society? I’d argue that, at its best, it is, with capitalism being an obvious candidate to explore, given the mainline series’ unflinchingly corporate American atomic age-inspired setting and the whole resource war that led up to the bombs being dropped. Though, according to co-creator Tim Cain, that isn’t the central crux of Fallout theme-wise.The veteran developer has said as much in a comment (thanks, PC Gamer) on the latest video posted to his YouTube channel – which I’d definitely reccomend checking to pretty much anyone who’s interested in games and how they get made – as part of a response to a fan asking for his thoughts on reading Fallout “as a critique on capitalist/corporative greed (Vault-Tec and others) and on excessive militarizatio…
Read moreLike A Dragon/Yakuza series developer RGG Studio has locked in an RGG Summit for September 20, the same date we got its fall RGG Summit last year, and seems set to reveal . Naturally, fans have been quick to start speculating/wishing into existence stuff they’d like to see the studio whip out.The date of the Summit looks to be a bit of an interesting one, with RGG personnel, including studio head Masayoshi Yokoyama previously having said during a July live stream that its next game would be unveiled during this year’s Tokyo Game Show, which is set to run from September 26 to 29. Yes, that’s the week after this summit. To see this content please enable targeting cookies.Manage cookie settings Naturally, this has prompted a bit of fan confusion as to how RGG might handle that new game announc…

Read moreJames Earl Jones, the instantly recognisable voice of characters like Darth Vader and The Lion King’s Mufasa, has died at the age of 93.Yesterday, the actor’s agent Barry McPherson shared that Jones had died early in the morning surrounded by his family. Most people will know the actor as the incredibly foreboding voice of Star Wars most iconic villain Darth Vader, as well as the voice of Mufasa in both the original Lion King as well as its 2019 remake, but he had an incredibly broad career outside of these roles – he was also much beloved for his roles in films like Field of Dreams, Conan the Barbarian, and Coming to America. To see this content please enable targeting cookies.Manage cookie settings His performances weren’t just highly regarded by fans, as Jones was also an incredibly rare…
Read moreDeadlock is still early in development, so some players have been able to play however they like without any kind of punishment – but the newest update should stop that.Valve is working on a brand new shooter, one of the hero variety, if you hadn’t heard, but it being still in the testing phase means that Deadlock doesn’t quite have all the kinks worked out yet. However, when it comes to things like players just abandoning matches for no good reason, there wasn’t a system that disincentivized such behaviour. As part of the game’s September update, this has now been changed, with some punishments coming into effect in certain instances. For example, if a player has exhibited bad behaviour or abandons games too often, they can now be placed in a secondary queue that’s less likely to find a m…

Turns out, he’ll be stopping by Wednesday season 2 first.Collider shared the news, stating that Burton will be directing four out of eight episodes, like in season 1. Production is already underway, so maybe fans of the hit Netflix series won’t have to wait much longer (season 1 came out in 2022).To see this content please enable targeting cookies.Manage cookie settings With the Beetlejuice sequel still grabbing a decent amount of cash (against its $100 million production budget), hopes are high for a threequel, but that’s far from confirmed, especially with co-star Jenna Ortega busy leading (and now producing) Wednesday and preparing to promote a number of upcoming movies, among …

Read moreSony has had a very mixed year when it comes to live-service games, but even so Guerilla’s next game will reportedly be Horizon Online, not Horizon 3.A couple of years ago, Sony announced its intention to release 10 live-service games by the time 2026 rolls around, a plan that will have only pleased money men and people that think they can play more than one live-service game at a time (they can’t they suck up too much of your time). Then last year, Sony delayed a bunch of them, with The Last of Us’ much troubled online spin-off getting canned only a month after that. This year, Sony actually found some success with Helldivers 2, monumental success in fact… only to then have Concord flop harder than any other AAA game has in a very long time. And yet, according to Jason Schreier, kn…
Read moreLarian recently introduced official mod support to Baldur’s Gate 3, and it turns out a huge number of players are using them.Mods being popular with Baldur’s Gate 3 players was always a bit of an inevitability, considering its inherently playful nature as a game, and that was quickly evidenced by the fact that more than three million mods had been downloaded after Patch 7 dropped on PC last month. Now, the official Baldur’s Gate 3 has shared an update on where players are at in the week following the patch’s release on console, and yeah, it’s pretty clear that mods are popular with pretty much everyone. For starters, in the month since Patch 7 launched on PC, more than 22 million mods have been downloaded, a very healthy figure that points towards Baldur’s Gate 3’s modding scene’s continue…
